New Non-General Service Lamps Templates

New Non-General Service Lamp templates have been posted on the CCMS website. The new Non-General Service Lamp Medium Base Compact Fluorescent Lamps, v5.3, Non-General Service Lamp Candelabra and Intermediate Base Incandescent Lamps, v5.2 and Non-General Service Lamp Incandescent Reflector Lamps, v5.8 templates align with the certification requirements outlined respectively, in 10 CFR 429.35(b)(1) and (b)(2)(i), 429.40(b), and 429.55(b) for lamps that do not meet the definition of a General Service Lamp (GSL).

Certification has already been required for these lamp types, and the old versions of the templates have been made available upon request. However, to make it easier for certifiers, DOE has re-posted them as new versions that are re-named to indicate that they are for lamps that do not meet the definition of a GSL.

If one of these lamp types meets the definition of a GSL, then the current version of the applicable GSL template must be used. These new templates are only to be used for certifying Medium Base Compact Fluorescent Lamps, Candelabra and Intermediate Base Incandescent Lamps, and Incandescent Reflector Lamps that do not meet the definition of a GSL.

These new templates may be used immediately, but because the user input fields remain identical to the previous versions and DOE is making them available for ease of use, they must be used for all submissions on or after July 8, 2026. Submissions made on the old versions prior to July 8, 2026 do not need to be resubmitted until the next annual certification date of March 1, 2027.
