Certification data for AI assistants

AI assistants can search the certified model records of the Compliance Certification Database. Add this address to your assistant:

https://www.regulations.doe.gov/certification-data/mcp

The address uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It is free and public. There is no account, sign-in or key. Use is rate limited.

Connect your assistant

  1. Desktop assistant: open its settings, choose add connector (or add MCP server) and paste the address. Leave sign-in empty.
  2. Web assistant: in its connector settings, add a custom connector with the address. No authentication is needed.
  3. Command-line coding tool: add an MCP server with the HTTP transport and the address. No credentials are needed.

Menu names differ between assistants. Opening the address in a web browser shows an error. That is expected: the address is for assistants, not for browsers.

What you can ask

  • How many certified central air conditioner and heat pump records are there?

The assistant can report the data span: the number of certified model records and the date the data was last loaded. Ask for it when you cite an answer.

What the assistant can do

  • List the product types, with the number of records in each.
  • Search one product type, up to 100 records at a time.
  • Open one record by its id.
  • Count records by brand or by template version.
  • List the field names of a product type.
  • Report the data span.

Limits

  • Only current certified model records, the same records as the search on this site.
  • No submission history, no superseded records, no certification or submission dates and no validation status.
  • No bulk download. A search returns up to 100 records at a time.
  • No contact details and no private data.
